- development of a dataset

The NHS Information Authority, in conjunction with DoH policy leads and a multi-disciplinary working group are developing a dataset to support the implementation of the single assessment process.

The dataset has been derived from the DoH worked example of the single assessment summary, which can be found at::
www.doh.gov.uk/scg/sap/sas.htm (this was subject to revision in December 2003, to reflect the SAP Working Group’s deliberations).

The dataset is intended to provide underlying standards for the ‘sharing’ of data for SAP purposes, in accordance with the NHS Data Dictionary.

The dataset will shortly be subject to implementation piloting i.e. to test how well it can be collected across multi-organisational sectors.
