The Association had its bi-annual meeting during the BGS Autumn Meeting in Harrogate during which it changed its name from Association of Professors to the UK Association of Professors of Geriatric Medicine.

Several new professorships have been conferred and the Association will be writing to the conferees to congratulate them and invite them to future Association meetings

The Association hopes to arrange a satellite meeting as part of a future Scientific Meeting Programme. Prof Graham Mulley is being asked to take the lead on this.

The Association is concerned as to whether the teaching of core curriculum geriatrics is sufficiently embedded in medical school curricula. The Chairman of the Association will be looking into this.
